What is Waterboy about?
Donovan Miller insults Kaden Russell. Kaden hits back by changing the football uniforms. The prank plays a part in Donovan's injury, and Kaden has to serve as his waterboy. In the official synopsis, that forced closeness is where the relationship starts.
This page covers the original Waterboy. ReelShort's catalog lists Waterboy: Second Down as a separate title, so check which one you open when you search.
Who is in the cast?
These credits come from the publisher and the awards record. A cast tag shows a performer is in the show. It does not tell you which character they play.
| Credited performer | What the source establishes |
|---|---|
| Declan Clifford | Named in the official cast tags |
| Sky Kawai | Named in the official cast tags |
| Tori Harris | Named in the official cast tags |
| Faith Tucker | Named in the official cast tags |
How many episodes are there?
ReelShort's catalog data gives Waterboy 70 episodes, plus a separate trailer. The web title page only shows the trailer. The count comes from the catalog search record, checked October 2, 2026. Episode 14 is the first paid episode. That leaves 57 locked episodes after the free ones.
| Fact | What ReelShort shows |
|---|---|
| Release date | December 27, 2025 |
| Numbered episodes | 70, plus a trailer |
| Free episodes | 1 to 13 |
| Locked episodes | 57 (14 to 70) |
| Audience tag | All Ages |
| Story tags | Gay & Lesbian, Campus, Football, Enemies to Lovers, First Love |
| AI-generated | No, per ReelShort's AI flag |
The title page also links an IMDb entry (tt39281989). Check the episode list in the app before you pay. Catalog totals can change when a publisher re-cuts a series.
How can you watch it free legally?
Start with episodes 1 to 13, the ones before ReelShort's paywall. A free trailer does not mean the whole series is free. If the player offers an ad or reward unlock, read the limit it shows before you count on it. A free download is not free access to the whole story. The official free-viewing guide explains what to check.
What does it cost to finish?
There is no confirmed price to finish it. As of September 2026, the US App Store listing displays a $19.99 subscription and one-time purchases from $4.99 to $29.99. Those are app-wide products. None is the price of this series.
For a coin estimate, open episode 14, note its unlock price and multiply it by 57 locked episodes. Planning to watch Second Down too? Add its locked episodes before you compare coins with a plan.
Coins are an in-app balance that unlocks episodes one at a time. VIP is a paid plan that renews until you cancel. Check how long it runs and what it covers. Before you buy either, add up the cost the app shows for every locked episode left. Compare that total with the plan offered to your account. The ReelShort price guide helps you compare the billing options.
Is it on YouTube or Netflix?
No licensed full upload on YouTube or listing on Netflix is confirmed. The confirmed place to watch is the publisher page linked above. A search result that says “full movie” does not mean the upload is licensed or complete.
Is there a Waterboy sequel?
Yes. ReelShort lists Waterboy: Second Down as a separate title, released June 16, 2026, with 64 episodes and premium episodes starting at episode 12. Its catalog teaser reads "Enemies to lovers... back to enemies. For now." It is a separate paid title. Unlocks on the original do not carry over to it.
Watch the original first. A sequel's opening episodes can reveal how the first story ends.
What award recognition does it have?
Waterboy is marked as LGBTQIA+ Vertical of the Year in the 2025 results. The organizer credits Elastic Heart Productions and ReelShort for that entry. This comes from the organizer’s results page, checked September 29, 2026. Read the awards guide to see what the fan vote measures. Other LGBTQIA+ nominees with guides here are Straight Until He Kissed Me on GoodShort, Prince's First Love on ReelShort and Her Heart, Held Hostage on My Drama.
What else could you watch on ReelShort?
If campus rivalry is the attraction, compare Taming My Bullies or the enemies-to-lovers genre page. For more stories with a team or a match in the background, see the sports drama genre page. If you want to follow the award trail instead, the full fan-awards results separate genre winners from acting prizes. Read the ReelShort app guide before you pick another paid title. Recheck the unlock terms each time you switch series. Judge a plan or a coin balance against the next show you actually want to finish.
